How do I backup my documents to M365 OneDrive?

  • Syncing to OneDrive will backup your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders. It creates an exact mirror of these folders and puts them in the M365 cloud for expanded access, extra collaboration features, and added security features. OneDrive is for your personal files and cannot be accessed by others users without giving specific permissions.
  • Go to bottom-left search bar and type in “OneDrive” and click on the OneDrive application.

  • You can then click the “X” in the top right of the box, or open your OneDrive Folder. Your OneDrive folder will backup and mirror your computer’s Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folder. These folders are still only available to you, unless you choose to share them. Training on this will come, but you can continue to use your files as normal.
