Moving Files in "the Cloud"

1. When moving files that are stored in OneDrive, Teams, or Sharepoint, it's best to use the native Microsoft 365 web applications to move the files.

2. If you are not seeing the "Move" option pop up, it might be due to issues with permissions or file restrictions.

If your file is currently in OneDrive and you want to move it:

- Open and login to OneDrive: first, access OneDrive on the browser through account.microsoft.com, log in with your work credentials.

- Select the file: click on "My Files" tab. Hover over the file that you would like to move somewhere else, click on the three dots (More Actions), then click the "Move to" option.

- Choose new destination: a screen will pop up allowing you to move the file to a different destination. You can also create a new folder if needed. Click on where you would like to move the file, and then to finish, click "Move here."

If your file is currently in SharePoint and you want to move it:

- Open and login to SharePoint: first, access SharePoint on the browser through account.microsoft.com, log in with your work credentials.

- Locate and select the file: click the "Document" tab, hover over the file that you would like to move, click on the three dots (More Actions), then click the "Move to" option.

- Choose new destination: a screen will pop up allowing you to click on the destination that you would like to move the file to. Click on where you would like to move the file, and then to finish, click "Move here."

If your file is currently in Teams and you want to move it:

- Open and login to Teams: first, access Teams on the browser through account.microsoft.com, log in with your work credentials.

- Select the file: in whichever team your file is in, click on "Files" tab in the channel. Hover over the file that you would like to move, click on the three dots (More Actions), then click the "Move to" option.

- Choose new destination: a screen will pop up allowing you to click on the destination that you would like to move the file to. Click on where you would like to move the file, and then to finish, click "Move here."
